Occlusion in a dental context simply means the contact between the teeth. More technically, the relationship between the jaw (upper) and mandibular (lower) teeth when they approach each other, as is the case when chewing or at rest.
Occlusion is how your teeth come together when your jaw.

It is influenced by three basic components:

(3) bone.

Another factor that may affect the way your teeth fit together is your position.
If your teeth do not fit together properly, problems can not only the teeth but also gums, temporo-mandibular joint or the muscles that move your jaw. These problems are called 'occlusal problems.

Malocclusion is a deviation of teeth and jaws, or more simply, "bad bite" malocclusion can lead to a range of health and dental problems.

Dental Caries

or cavities, are very general. They start with the acid on the tooth. Acid is produced by bacteria in plaque. Plaque bacteria feed on sugars and starches from the diet and changes in acid. This acid eats into the tooth enamel, and the outer layer of the tooth and the dentin, the major area and the core of the tooth. Tooth gradually dissolves and the bacteria move into the damaged tooth structure.

It is a bacterial disease processes, damage to the hard dental tissue (enamel, dentin and cementum. These tissues gradually degraded, making a dental cavities (holes in teeth). Tooth decay occurs when foods with carbohydrates (sugars and starches) such as bread, cereals, milk, soft drinks, fruit, pastries, cookies, or left to the teeth. Bacteria that live in the mouth digest these foods, turning them into acids. bacteria, acids, residues food, saliva, forming plaque that clings to teeth. acids in plaque dissolve the enamel surface of teeth and create holes in the teeth called cavities or tooth decay.

What are the types of bacteria that cause tooth cavity

Two groups of bacteria are responsible for the initiation of caries: Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacilli

According to a research conducted by Indiana American Studies University School of Dentistry black men may be at increased risk for heart problems caused by the accumulation of dental plaque.researchers studied 128 black and white women and men and found that the accumulation of plaque no change in the total number of white blood cells, cause a known risk factor for heart problems. However, the accumulation of plaque in black men was associated with a significant increase in the activity of white blood cells, called neutrophils, an important component of the immune system, researchers noted. None of the study participants had periodontal (gum) disease. They were healthy people were asked to neglect their oral hygiene as part of the study, the study authors explain. According Kowolik a professor of periodontics "If you get a bacterial infection anywhere in the body, billions of neutrophils come flooding out of your bone marrow to defend against the intruder. Our observation that with poor dental hygiene, white blood cell activity increased in black men but not black women or whites of either sex suggests both gender and racial differences in the inflammatory response to dental plaque. This finding could help us identify individuals at greater risk for infections anywhere in the body including those affecting the heart,"
